Repowered, located in Saint Paul, first opened in 2011. Since then, they have provided electronics recycling, refurbishing, tech repair and data wiping services to the Twin Cities.
Repowered is a business truly dedicated to the idea of second-chance hiring. Eighty percent of its staff have been in some way impacted by the criminal legal system. Their commitment to people and planet is summed up in their powerful motto: “We are all defined by our futures.”
Repowered offers a 12-to-18-week Work Readiness Program to hard-working individuals who have returned from incarceration, assisting them in overcoming some of the obstacles and barriers to successful reentry. The program offers full-time work as part of an inclusive team, stability in
scheduling, and a judgment-free environment. After completion of
the program, further assistance is offered in the form of resources shared and recommendations made.“I am proud to work with the men and women here at Repowered. Repowered takes a holistic approach to assisting these individuals stabilize their lives, remove barriers, and allow them to see hope for their futures. I am driven to help them build positive outcomes and success stories,” said Jay Grossman, director of the Work Readiness program.

A Department of Labor resource, CareerOneStop offers a lot of information on job searching, for every step of the process from figuring out what you want to do — if you’re just starting out, or re-starting and making new discoveries — to various types of financing available for education, interview tips, practice resources, templates, and samples for job-search paperwork like applications, resumes, and cover letters.
The website also access to nationwide job listings, as part of the American Job Center network, as well as advice and information specifically for people with criminal records.

Minnesota’s Career Website – a full-service collection of resources for job searchers, this includes online tools, learning resources, an events calendar featuring everything from local job fairs to job-search consulting sessions to computer classes to job clubs.
Whatever else you’re doing to find a job, you should also be looking here, because they’ve got a lot to offer. You can also stop in at one of the 50+ CareerForce centers throughout the state for personal consultations and access to various resources.
